Advanced ATA features and usageMany features below mention a FLASH button, which refers to a button included on most cordless analog phones. If your phone does not have a FLASH button, you may attempt to use "hook flash". To use "hook flash", quickly toggle the call on-off hook. NOTE: You may drop a call using hook flash.
Hold (can be used for Park/Pick Up):
- Place a call on hold by pressing the FLASH button on the analog phone.
Press the FLASH button again to release the previously held caller and resume the conversation.
Call Pick Up:
- Call Pick Up requires changing the functionality of the # button on the analog phone. With Call Pick Up enabled, the # button no longer acts as a send key and cannot be used in the features below. To enabled this feature, please contact our support team at 763-222-1000, option 3 or email support@velocitytelephone.com.
Paging/barge:
- Dial *74 + extension (or full 10-digit number) you wish to page, followed by # (or wait for interdigit timeout; ~4 seconds). This feature requires paging to be enabled on the receiving phone.
Call Waiting:
- A call waiting tone (3 short beeps) indicates an incoming call. Toggle
between the incoming and current call by pressing the FLASH button. The first call is placed on hold. Press
the FLASH button to toggle between the two active calls.
Blind Call Transfer:
- To transfer an active call, press the FLASH button. You should hear a dial tone
- Dial *87 + extension (or full 10-digit number) you wish to transfer to, followed by # (or wait for interdigit timeout; ~4 seconds)
- When you hear a dial tone, the transfer is complete
Attended Transfer:
Assume that caller A and B are in conversation. Caller A wants to attend transfer caller B to caller C:
- Caller A presses the FLASH button on the analog phone and waits for a dial tone.
- Caller A then dials caller C’s number followed by # (or wait for interdigit timeout; ~4 seconds)
- If caller C answers the call, caller A and caller C are in a conversation. Then caller A can hang up to complete transfer
- If caller C does not answer the call, caller A can press FLASH to resume the call with caller B
NOTE: If the attended transfer fails, you will receive a ring back.
3-Way Calling:
- While on a call, press the FLASH button. You should hear a dial tone
- Dial the 3rd party you wish to conference in, followed by # (or wait for interdigit timeout; ~4 seconds)
- If the 3rd party answers the call, press FLASH to conference the two lines
- If the 3rd party does not answer the call, press FLASH to speak with the original caller
- While in an active conference call, press FLASH to drop the 3rd party
NOTE: Hanging up while on a conference call will disconnect the other callers

*70 | Disable Call Waiting (per call). Dial “*70” + ” number ”. No dial tone is played in the middle. |
*71 | Enable Call Waiting (per call). Dial “*71” + ” number ”. No dial tone is played in the middle. |
*72 | Unconditional Call Forward: Dial “*72” and then the forwarding number followed by “#”. Wait for dial tone and hang up. (dial tone indicates successful forward) |
*73 | Cancel Unconditional Call Forward. To cancel “Unconditional Call Forward”, dial “*73”, wait for dial tone, then hang up. |
*78 | Enable Do Not Disturb (DND): When enabled all incoming calls are rejected. |
*79 | Disable Do Not Disturb (DND): When disabled, incoming calls are accepted. |
*90 | Busy Call Forward: Dial “*90” and then the forwarding number followed by “#”. Wait for dial tone then hang up. |
*91 | Cancel Busy Call Forward. To cancel “Busy Call Forward”, dial “*91”, wait for dial tone, then hang up. |
*92 | Delayed Call Forward. Dial “*92” and then the forwarding number followed by “#”. Wait for dial tone then hang up. *93 cancels Delayed Call Forward. |
