Create a call rule that rings my cell phone?


Call rules may be created to automatically call your cell phone during call handling. There are two ways to do this.


To create a Find Me / Follow Me rule (most common):

  1. Login to the secure web portal at https://velocityvo.com/pbx
  2. Click on the "Call Rules" link under your voicemail box
  3. Click the "Add a Call Handling Rule" button at the top of the page (to edit an existing rule click the "Edit" link next to the call rule)
  4. Check the "Call me at these phone numbers before performing the default action" checkbox and enter your cell phone number in the field below the checkbox.
  5. Adjust the number of rings to try your cell phone as desired
  6. Optionally check the "Use DID as the caller ID" checkbox if you would like calls to your cellphone to be presented with your voicemail DID rather than the original caller ID of the caller.
  7. Optionally apply day of week / time of day options and/or caller ID filters for the rule
  8. Click the "Continue with normal call handling" radio button
  9. Click the "Add Rule" button to apply the new rule
Note that you may DND your phone when leaving to apply Find Me / Follow Me rules immediately to callers while you are away from your desk.


To create a Sim-Ring rule:

  1. Login to the secure web portal at https://velocityvo.com/pbx
  2. Click on the "Call Rules" link under the phone you would like to Sim-Ring
  3. Click the "Add a Call Handling Rule" button at the top of the page (to edit an existing rule click the "Edit" link next to the call rule)
  4. Check the "Call me at these phone numbers before performing the default action" checkbox
  5. Check the "Call this line" checkbox to ring your deskphone at the same time
  6. Enter your cell phone number in the next field below the "Call this line" checkbox
  7. Adjust the number of rings to Sim-Ring as desired
  8. Optionally check the "Use DID as the caller ID" checkbox if you would like calls from this call rule to be presented with your DID rather than the original caller ID of the caller.
  9. Optionally apply day of week / time of day options and/or caller ID filters for the rule
  10. Click the "Send to voicemail" radio button
  11. Click the "Add Rule" button to apply the new rule
Note that Sim-Ring rules are not applied to internal Blind Transfers. Only Find Me / Follow Me rules are applied to internal Blind Transfers.
